Energy Transactions

An energy project changes value through development, a transaction, financing and operation. We bring the commercial objective, project information and execution steps into one process so the next decision has a clear basis.

Solar PV, wind, BESS and hybrid projects — from development to operational assets.

Between an interesting project and a commitment are questions that cannot be skipped.

An owner needs to know how to present a project and which buyers are suitable. An investor needs to distinguish a relevant opportunity from a teaser concealing outstanding conditions. A financing applicant needs to understand the capital requirement and the information supporting it. These are different objectives, even for the same project.

Energy Transactions provides three distinct routes: sell, acquire and facilitate financing. You do not need an exit to request financing or a legal engagement to receive a project introduction. Related needs can be recorded in one enquiry, with each workstream separately agreed.

Our approach follows the questions that change the decision: existing rights, documented stage, outstanding conditions, permitted disclosure and responsibility for the next step. Progress means fewer essential questions left unanswered, rather than simply more discussions.

Three commercial objectives, with distinct roles and terms

For sellers: preparation, buyers and coordination

From defining the transaction perimeter and presenting the project to buyer discussions and the mandate’s next steps. Success fee 3–6%, depending on project and exclusivity.

For buyers: identification against criteria

Search begins with the investment strategy rather than fictional inventory. Buyers pay no commission for introductions; in-depth review is separately contracted.

For financing: a capital requirement in context

Development, construction, acquisition or refinancing, including a retained project. Success fee only, with fee instalments mirroring financing receipts.

For related services: clear scope and responsibility

Legal services through Grigorescu Partners after conflict checks, with separately agreed technical or implementation workstreams. Energy Century XXI SRL is the commercial provider.

How the first enquiry becomes a process you can follow

The process follows the project and mandate. At each stage we clarify what is known, what is missing and which decision comes next.

Prepare the first discussion

  • Objective: sell, acquire or finance
  • Your role and represented company
  • Technology, capacity and stage
  • Your decisive question or condition

Information not yet known can be clarified later. The first enquiry does not require a complete VDR.

  1. Start with your situation

Objective, role, technology, capacity and stage. Information not yet known is identified and clarified later.

Output: a saved enquiry with a reference.

  2. Review role and fit

Clarify whether you represent an owner, investor or financing applicant and which service addresses the objective.

Output: the discussion route and initial questions.

  3. Agree the mandate and disclosure

Provider, scope, commercial terms, confidentiality and required documents are established.

    Output: explicit rules before commitment.

  4. Organise information and counterparties

Prepare the presentation, criteria-led search or financing discussion according to the service. Sensitive information is controlled.

Output: relevant discussions with an information basis.

  5. Make outstanding conditions visible

Offers, document requests and issues are linked to the next decision. Legal and technical reviews have distinct scopes.

    Output: traceable progress and responsibilities.

  6. Coordinate through completion of the mandate

Steps depend on documents, counterparties and agreed services. Material issues may require remediation, restructuring or stopping.

Output: a decision based on the project’s actual position.

The commercial stage is not supported by the fileDistinguish the label from available documents and outstanding conditions.RTB, an issued ATR and an operating asset are not interchangeable.
The parties’ objectives are not alignedClarify full sale, an interest, JV, acquisition or financing.A promising discussion may need a different structure to proceed.

Where to start when objectives overlap

A project seeking a buyer or partner

Start with selling. Clarify full exit, partial sale or JV; financing or further preparation can become separate workstreams.

Investment criteria seeking projects

Start with buying. Stage, technology, capacity and budget are recorded together, including possible legal or financing needs.

Capital needed for a retained project

Start with financing. The capital requirement is addressed in its own right without assuming an asset sale.

Technology changes the questions that need asking.

One coordination approach, with project information adapted to technology and stage.

Solar PV

MW AC and MWp must be distinguished. The project profile connects land, grid, permitting and remaining investment; operating assets also require generation and contractual context.

Wind

Capacity alone does not describe the project. Site, rights, studies, grid access and permitting conditions need development and execution context.

Standalone BESS

Power in MW, energy in MWh and duration are distinct. Import/export, grid access, configuration and revenue assumptions must be clarified for the specific project.

Hybrid PV + BESS / wind + BESS

Consider components and their interface together: capacities, configuration, grid access, operating conditions and responsibilities. Adding two capacities does not fully describe a hybrid project.

From RTB projects to operating assets: end-to-end intermediation.

Energy Century XXI SRL has delivered more than 25 successful project intermediations over the past two years. Its experience includes end-to-end coordination of the RTB projects and operating assets illustrated below.

The stated experience includes PV+BESS, standalone storage and operating solar assets. The configurations below illustrate projects intermediated end to end by Energy Century XXI SRL. Client identities and confidential mandate information are protected.

Past experience informs the process; your engagement is designed around your project’s own position.

PV figures are reported in MW; the MW AC/MWp basis is clarified in each project file. For BESS, MW denotes power and hours the reported duration; equivalent MWh is calculated as MW × hours. These examples do not establish sale availability and are not an audit of project files; documents and identities remain confidential.

Practical questions

Is an ATR enough to describe a project as RTB?

No. Land rights, permitting, grid documentation and remaining conditions must be reviewed together. We distinguish the declared stage from the stage supported by documents.

Are the projects on the map for sale?

The map is a market-information resource. Inclusion does not establish availability for sale, a mandate or a right to present a project. Matching is based on actual availability and authority.

What should I send first?

Your role, technology, capacity, location or investment geography, stage and objective. Select “I do not know yet” where appropriate. Sensitive documents follow only through an agreed private channel.

Can a buyer also request financing or legal advice?

Yes. Select related services in one enquiry. Your contact details are recorded once; the optional workstreams and their fees are agreed separately.

Is a sale or financing outcome guaranteed?

No. Price, timing, buyer availability and financing decisions depend on the project, counterparties and diligence. Submitting an enquiry does not create a mandate.

Who is the contractual provider?

Energy Century XXI SRL provides intermediation and financing facilitation. Grigorescu Partners separately provides legal services following conflict checks. Technical and implementation services follow their agreed scope.

What is the first discussion for?

Role, objective, project fit and the minimum information for the next step. It does not automatically accept an engagement or verify the project stage.
